Hydrophobic coating: hydrophobe lens coating that rejects water and resists stains to prevent possible visual impairment.
Many single drops of water on a high-performance glasses can quickly impair your vision. The name literally means “fear of water” in Greek, and Harley-Davidson Eyewear’s “hydrophobic” lens coating helps to deter water molecules from rain and sweat. With a 20–30 nanometer thick transparent layer of titanium dioxide on the outer surface of the lens, this anti-friction coating ensures that water molecules adhere to each other and fall off more easily. Hydrophobic coatings are common in corrective glasses and also have antistatic properties, making dust and other particles easier to slip off and clean.
ANSI RATING: ANSI Z87.1 certified for protection on motorcycle with glasses and frames that meet US safety glasses standards and both resist high-speed particles at low energy (F) as well as have increased robustness (S).
EN 166-RATED: EN 166:2001 certified for protection on motorcycle with glasses and frames that meet European safety glasses standards and withstand both high-speed and high-mass impact tests (collision resistance F: low-energy impact = 0.88g steel ball fire, 45 m/s and 162 km/h respectively).
